Whoop, whoop ! The Bró team are absolutely thrilled to have scooped a Silver Award at the recent Blas Na hEireann Food Awards for our Bró House Blend!
This is a huge accolade from one the most prestigious Food Awards in Ireland.
Michael Johnston Director of Bró Coffee said that he and his wife Brenda were delighted. “It’s our first time applying for the awards and its’ a real coup for our family business. We developed Bro House after 18 months testing and blending and it feels amazing to be so highly regarded in this category which has had a record number of entries.”
The awards ‘blind tasting’ selection process is considered the gold standard in judging.
Bró House blend is an Arabica coffee, combining beans from Brazil, Columbian and Honduras. The beans are specially roasted, combining two different roasting techniques, in small batches in Co Down – the process is designed to deliver the best flavour with a smooth finish.
Brenda said: “Bró House is perfectly blended to deliver a great body, cereal aroma with notes of malt, chocolate and plum with a medium acidity and a prolonged hazelnut after-taste. It’s been over a year in development and we’re over the moon the judges enjoyed it and awarded us silver in a hotly contested category.
“The Blas accreditation has a high recognition amongst Irish consumers and encourages shoppers to buy these products. It is a guarantee of a top quality Irish product, so we’re thrilled to be able to add to Blas an hEireann silver badge to our Bró House packaging,” Brenda concludes.
Bró House is one of our best-selling coffees for Bró at Home and our commercial clients.
